Answer:

12

Explanation:

Keep in mind the rules of PEMDAS

P (parenthesis)

E (exponents)

M (multiply)

D (division)

A (addition)

S (subtraction)

Because parenthesis is the first operation in PEMDAS, you would start by calculating inside the parenthesis

We can start with the numbers inside the first parenthesis

(33 - 2 × 7)

Start by multiplying 2 and 7 because the M comes before the S

(33 - 2×7)= (33- 14)

Now subtract 14 from 33

(33-14) = 19

Step 2: Calculate inside the second parenthesis

(5 × 3 - 22)

Multiply first

(5 × 3 - 22)= (15 - 22)

Subtract!

(15 - 22)= -7

Now add the final number together

(why? There is an addition sign between the two parenthesis ordering us to add the final numbers together)

19 + (-7)

19-7

12

I hope this helps!!!
