Number of dark tiles: d
Number of white tiles: w

Figure 1: d=2, w=1
Figure 2: d=4, w=3
Figure 3: d=6, w=5

F d=2w
w=1→d=2(1)→d=2 Ok
w=3→d=2(3)→d=6 different to 4 No

G w=d-1
d=2→w=2-1→w=1 Ok
d=4→w=4-1→w=3 Ok
d=6→w=6-1→w=5 Ok

H d=2w-2
w=1→d=2(1)-2=2-2→d=0 different to 2 No

J w=(1/2)d+1
d=2→w=(1/2)(2)+1=2/2+1=1+1→w=2 different to 1 No

Answer: Option G: d=w-1
