Vasodilation refers to the dilation or widening of blood vessels, which is a result of muscle and vessel walls relaxation. Basically, when we exercise, our body release heat because of the energy we are using, all movements end in heat because a certain amount of energy is used.

So, while temperature rises, the body is constantly trying to maintain its equilibrium to preserve the correct function of each system, this is called homeostasis. In addition, there are several factors that help to bring down the body temperature, sweating is the direct action we see, caused by the eccrine sweat glands, but blood also help to cool down the body by increasing its amount through a dilation of blood vessels (vasodilation), helping get to the hot zones faster, that's why our skin looks with a red tone, blood is cooling down and giving oxygen to muscle constantly.

For the answer to the question above, I think that the sweat secretion stops when the body temperature returns to its normal temperature. Blood vessels supplying blood to the skin can swell or dilate and that thing is called vasodilation.
