The correct answer is C. Separation of powers refers to the three branches of American Government: executive, legislative, and judicial. These branches have a system of “checks and balances” to prevent tyranny.

The answer is option C "Power is divided among the three branched of government so no branch has all the power." The separation of powers, (checks and balances) was made in order to separate the power among the three branches over government so one branch doesn't get more powerful than the other which would result in the government falling apart these branch's of government had specific powers which creates daily life.

Hope this helps!
