You read the text then look for some small pieces of evidence that will give you an idea on what the text is about and when you’re done re-read the text and find evidence to support the claim that you found from the first read

Answer: In paragraphs, a topic sentence often identifies the main claim or idea of the paragraph. This is usually the first sentence, but not always.

Step-by-step explanation:

Look for evidence in the text. Understand what your article is about. You have to know what you're reading about.

Be able to identify any fallacies and rhetoric styles the writer uses. Understand the writer's purpose. You must know what the writer's main intent is, in order to find the claim.
