Answer:
Such kinds of molecules having a positive end and a negative end is known as polar molecule. In case of water, hydrogen atom has partial positive charge and oxygen atom has a partial negative charge. This is due to differences in their electronegativity, because a covalent bond is existed between oxygen and hydrogen but the bonded electrons are attracted more towards oxygen as compared to hydrogen. Thats why H2O is a polar molecule.
