A great tower has been uncovered at Ur, an ancient city of "Mesopotamia".
Ur was a city in the locale of Sumer, southern Mesopotamia, in what is current Iraq. As per biblical convention, the city is named after the man who established the main settlement there, Ur, however this has been questioned. In the Old Babylonian Time Ur remained a city of significance and was viewed as a focal point of learning and culture.
