April 18—Local high school drama participants will have a surprise audience member this year as a famous Broadway performer joins the panel of judges for the annual Repertory Theater High School Awards. Since 2003, the Rep Awards have become a beloved tradition. They represent an inspiring way to reward the hard work of Boone County drama students. Every year, the local repertory theaters sponsor the awards. Members present certificates and even scholarships to students from participating high schools. Students may win in a variety of areas. These include best actor or best supporting actor in a drama, best actor or best supporting actor in a musical, best ensemble, best technical achievement, best student playwright, and best student director.
