Here's the inequality for the painting of a house:
5x + 10
Basically to find the rooms he has to paint we use this equation:
5x + 10 = 50
(Remember that 10 still represents a room)
Isolate x:
5x = 40
x = 8
8 + 1 = 9
He will have to paint 9 rooms
