Mult. both sides by 10 to remove fractions:

10( 1/10 (x + 11) = -2 (8 - x) ) => x+11 = -20(8-x) = -160 + 20x

x+11 = -160 + 20x

Subtracting 11 from both sides, x = -171 + 20x, or 171=19x.

Thus, x = 171/19.
