We have the equation:

(1)/(2)x+ (2)/(3)y=6

Multiplying both sides by 6, we get:

6( (1)/(2)x+ (2)/(3)y)=6(6) \\ \\ (6)/(2)x+ (12)/(3)y=36 \\ \\ 3x+4y=36

This means the value of 3x + 4y will be 36
