When a virus takes over the machinery of a cell, it forces the cells to manufacture more viral particles. Many viruses follow several stages to infect the host cells. These stages are the attachment, penetration, uncoating, biosynthesis, maturation and release. During the biosynthesis stage the viral RNA enters the nucleus, where it is replicated by the viral RNA polymerase.
