The derivatives tell you there are local extremes at (-2, 8) and (2, 0), a point of inflection at (0, 4). The curve is decreasing on the interval (-2, 2) and non-decreasing everywhere else. It is concave downward for x<0 and concave upward for x>0.

This is nicely done by a cubic function such as the one shown here.
