let m be the slope and b the y-intercept.

m=(y₂-y₁)/(x₂-x₁)

m= (-1-4)/(-5-(-4))

m= 6

y=mx+b

4=6(-4)+b

b=28

y=6x+28

(-2,4)

parallel means the slopes are the same:

4=6(-2)+b

4=-12+b

b=16

y=6x+16
