Read the following passage from "The Jilting of Granny Weatherall": Yes, she had changed her mind after sixty years and she would like to see George. I want you to find George. Find him and be sure to tell him I forgot him. I want him to know I had my husband just the same and my children and my house like any other woman. A good house too and a good husband that I loved and fine children out of him. Based on your reading of the story, who is George? A. Granny Weatherall's dead husband B. Granny Weatherall's father C. Granny Weatherall's long lost love D. Granny Weatherall's son

Based on the reading of the story, George is C. Granny Weatherall's long lost love.

"The Jilting of Granny Weatherall" is a short story written by Katherine Anne Porter and published in 1930. It tells the story of Granny Weatherall, an old woman who is sick and starts thinking about death. George is her long lost love. He was the one who left her alone at the altar when Granny Weatherall was young; however, she thinks about him many times throughout the story. This excerpt shows that Granny Weatherall is interested in seeing him and telling him that she got married with a great man and had children in order to show him that she was able to forget him.
