Is it possible that you could get an answer that checks and works in one equation and does not work in the other equation?

Ok so I'm a little confused about your question. But there is such thing as a one solution equation no solution equations and infinity solution equation here are some examples.

One solution equation: Consistent, Independent. EX. X=4

Infinity solution equation: Consistent, dependent. EX. 2=5

No solution equation: Inconsistent, Independent. EX. 0=0
