A recipe for tropical punch calls for 222 cups of pineapple juice and 333 cups of orange juice. Jo creates a drink by mixing 333 cups of pineapple juice with 444 cups of orange juice. How does Jo's drink compare to the tropical punch recipe?

Here we may have that all the numbers are tripled, so we have that:

the recipe needs:

2 cups of pineapple juice.

3 cups of orange juice.

Then the ratio of pineapple juice to orange juice is 2 to 3, then out of 5 total cups, 2/5 = 0.4 of the drink is pineapple, and 3/5 = 0.6 is orange.

Jo creates a drink that uses 3 cups of pineapple juice and 4 cups of orange juice.

In Jo drink we have that the ratio is 3 to 4, this means that the ratios are different, out of 7 total cups we have that 3/7 = 0.43 is pineapple and 4/7 = 0.57 is orange.

So in Jo's drink, the proportion of orange is smaller and the proportion of pineapple is bigger.
