This is right triangle trig. It will help you to remember SohCoaToa:

Sinθ=opposite /hypotenuse

Cosθ=adjacent/hypotenuse

Tangentθ=opposite/adjacent

The tangent then of angle is A is the side across (opposite) angle A over the side next to (adjacent) angle A. Keep in mind that the adjacent side is NOT THE HYPOTENUSE EVER!!!!!

tangentA = 12/9

In the next one, the sin A is the side opposite A (24) over the hypotenuse (25)

In the last one, the cos A is the side adjacent to A (7) over the hypotenuse (25)
