Write a real world problem for f(x)=-35x + 525

Answer:

A ball is thrown from a cliff which is 525 meters from the ground. The ball falla at the rate of 35 meters per second. Model a function representing the height of the ball
f from the ground after
x seconds.

For the above problem we can model the function as follows:


f(x)=-35x+525

In order to check we can plugin
x=0 and see what is the height of the ball at the begging.


f(0)=-35(0)+525=0+525=525

Thus we see at 0 seconds the height is still 525 meters from the ground which is the initial position of the ball.

Thus, we can find the height of the ball at different times by plugging in the values for
x in the function.
