I am so passionate about this, not only because I want to better the environment, but also to better the lives of the people and animals where I live. Last year, my friend's dog was exposed to some runoff water that had been contaminated by motor oil from a nearby building construction site and became very ill. This was a very sad experience for my friend and her family and also myself but luckily her puppy recovered. Although, it did not comfort us that other animals could not have met a worse fate or that we were being protected ourselves.
