we have the relation


3x+y=3

To find the range determine the value of y for each value of x in the relation

so

For x=-2

substitute in the equation


3(-2)+y=3


-6+y=3


y=9

For x=2

substitute in the equation


3(2)+y=3


6+y=3


y=-3

For x=4

substitute in the equation


3(4)+y=3


12+y=3


y=-9

therefore

The range is [9,-3,-9]
