Emily sold 114 boxes of cookies for a fundraiser. If she sold 60% of the total number of boxes sold for the fundraiser, how many total boxes of cookies were sold for the fundraiser?

Explanation:

The number of boxes of cookies sold for fundraiser = 114

The percentage of fundraiser sold = 60 % of the total number of boxes

Let The Total number of boxes = n

So, According to question

The number of boxes of cookies sold for fundraiser = 60 % of the total number of boxes

I.e 60 % of n = 114

Or,
(60)/(100) × n = 114

Or, 0.6 × n = 114

∴ n =
(114)/(0.6)

I.e n = 190

So , number of boxes = n = 190

Hence The total number of boxes of cookies were to sold for the fundraiser is 190 . Answer
