Jack and Adam work at a toy factory. Jack made 6 more than twice as many toys as Adam did. If jack made 42 toys, how many toys did Adam make? Please find the answer

Answer:

Adam made 18 toys.

Explanation:

Say the number of toys made by Jack= j and the number of toys made by Adam= a

"Jack made 6 more than twice as many toys as Adam did" translates to

"j= 2a+6"

so

42=2a+6

36=2a

18=a

So Adam made 18 toys.

Adam made 18 toys. Subtract 6 from 42, and then divide 36 by 2 for your answer. Have a nice day :)
