y=-6 x= 11

Explanation:

Use simultaneous equations.

Add the 2 equations together

-7x-2y = -65 + 7x-9y=131

then you get -11y = 66

so y = -6

then substitute that value into the one of the other equations

7x - 9(-6) = 131

7x+54 = 131

7x = 77

x= 11
