Solution:

Basic Proportionality Theorem:

If a line is parallel to a side of a triangle which intersects the other sides into two distinct points, then the line divides those sides in proportion.

i.e


(AE)/(ED) =(AB)/(BC)...........{Basic Proportionality Theorem}

Substituting the given values we get


(9)/(6) =(x)/(10)\\\therefore x = 10* (9)/(6)\\\therefore x = (90)/(6)\\\therefore x = 15

The value of x = 15.
