For instance the Cotton Gin, this was instrumental in cotton becoming a true cash crop. It allowed cotton to be quickly processed by 2-3 people in an hour, that the same amount would take a day with 20 people without the Cotton Gin. This is just one example. So these inventions changed peoples lives by decreasing labor and increasing profit (especially for companies).
