y=-1(x-6)^2+32

Explanation:

vertex form: y=a(x-h) ^2+k

you have your equation in standard form : ax^2+bx+c

how to change it:

vertex x=(-b)/2(a)

x=-(12)/2(-1)

x=6

substitute x into original (standard-form) equation to find y

vertex y=-(6)^2+12(6)-4

y=32

substitute those values into your vertex (h,k) : (6,32)

y=-1(x-6)^2+32
