Fifteen less than eight tiles a number is equal to to 11 more than six times the number. What is the number ?

The number
=13.

Explanation:

Lets assume that the number be
x .

So accordingly

We have fifteen less than eight times a number that is
8(x)-15

And we have,

Eleven more than six times of that number that is
6(x)+11

Equating both.


8(x)-15 =
6(x)+11

Subtracting
6(x) and adding
15 both sides of the equation.


8(x)-6(x) = 15+11


2(x)) = 26

So finally the number
=13.

Dividing both sides with 13.


x = (26)/(2) =13
