for the demoninator to get to 4 to 12 u times by 3 (4,8,12) so you times the numerator by 3, 3 times 3= 9

so its 9/12

for 6 to get to 12, you times by 2, (6,12) so times the numerator by 2, 1 times 2 is 2

9/12-6/12= 3/12
