How do you solve 2-3y >1 as a inequalities​

For this case we have the following inequality:


2-3y> 1

We solve by following the steps below:

We subtract 2 from both sides of the inequality:


-3y> 1-2

Different signs are subtracted and the sign of the major is placed:


-3y> -1

We divide between 3 on both sides of the inequality:


-y>\frac {-1} {3}\\-y> - \frac {1} {3}

We multiply by -1 on both sides taking into account that the sense of inequality changes:


y<\frac {1} {3}

ANswer:

The solution is:
y <\frac {1} {3}
