Carmen drew a cylinder and a cone. The volume of cone is 20 cubic inches.

Solution:

Given that

Camrew drew a cylinder and code with identical bases and heights

Volume of cylinder = 60 cubic inches

Need to calculate volume of cone.

The volume of cylinder is given as:

\begin{array}{l}{V_(c y)=\pi r^(2) h} \\\\ {V_(c y)=60 \text { cubic inches }}\end{array}

The volume of cone is given as:

V_(c o)=(\pi r^(2) h)/(3)

As radius r and height of cylinder and cone is same, substitute
\pi r^(2) h=V_(c y)

\Rightarrow V_(c o)=(v_(c y))/(3)=(60)/(3)=20 \text { cubic inches }

Hence required volume of cone is 20 cubic inches.
