Assistive technology:
Assistive technology refers to those equipment, devices and services that are used to assist or facilitate the learning process of those children who have a certain type of disability in learning.
Speech-generating devices:
- Speech generating devices are those devices that generate speech from written content.
- These devices access the written content and generate a speech reading out loud and clear each and every word.
- These devices have pre-installed pronunciation and output format for a large number of words, they just read and recognize a word and then speech is produced.
Augmentative communication and its importance:
Augmentative communication refers to conveying information or thoughts by any other means except direct speech. It is important because we have so many types of disabilities in hearing section. Augmentative communication makes a way for hearing impaired individuals to interact and communicate to everyone.
