To make x the subject:
Do the inverse of subtract 4 and and add it making it go to the then side.
Dived 4 to remove it from x and put the equation 2x+ 6 over 4 leaving the equation as:
x = 2x +6/4

Answer:

x =3

Explanation:

4x – 4 = 2x + 2

Solving for x

Subtract 2x from each side

4x-2x – 4 = 2x-2x + 2

2x-4 = 2

Add 4 to each side

2x-4+4 = 2+4

2x = 6

Divide each side by 2

2x/2 = 6/2

x =3
