The amount he should put in the college savings account
\bold{ \$308}

Solution:

Given, income of Mark =
\$ 2200

Percentage of amount in college savings account =
14 \%

To find: The amount he should put in the college savings account

This can be solved in two methods as follows:

Method 1:

As given, Mark puts
14\% of the total amount in the account

i.e.
14\% \ of \ 2200 \Rightarrow (14)/(100)* 2200

On solving,

\Rightarrow (30800)/(100) = \$ 308

Method 2:

So, here assume that 100 corresponds to 2200

As given, Mark puts
14\% of the total amount in the account

i.e. 100*22=2200

\therefore 14*22=308

Hence, the amount is
\$308
