These are rhombuses

No. of squares on each edge increases by 1

Next would be with 4 squares on each edge

Draw a rhombus with 4 squares on top right edge, add 3 on the top right edge (1 is already there at the vertex)

Add 3 to the lower right edge

Add 2 squares to the bottom left edge (2 vertices covered already)

I'm not really sure about my answer but i'll give it a go.

Explanation:

I think that the pattern is that a square is added on the outside corners. So basically, the empty corners are filled in with squares. (im not sure btw so u can check other answers for a more reliable response)
