  • Slope Formula:
    \displaystyle m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Explanation:

Step 1: Define

Point (2, -9)

Point (-2, 3)

Step 2: Find slope m

Simply plug in the 2 coordinates into the slope formula to find slope m

  1. Substitute [SF]:
    \displaystyle m=(3+9)/(-2-2)
  2. [Frac] Add/Subtract:
    \displaystyle m=(12)/(-4)
  3. [Frac] Divide:
    \displaystyle m=-3
