Melia put the $30 her Grandmother gave her for her tenth birthday into her piggy bank. Each week after

that she added her $2.00 allowance to the bank.
Note: Use 52 weeks in a year for your conversion.
Is the amount of money in Melia's piggy bank each week a sequence? If so, what kind and why? If not, why
not?
Yes, it is an arithmetic sequence, because the points form a straight line.
Yes, it is a sequence, but it is not arithmetic or geometric. It is not a recognizable pattern,
Yes, it is a geometric sequence, because the points form an exponential curve.
No, it is not a sequence, because it is a continuous function.
Write an equation to represent the amount of money is in Melia's piggy bank after n weeks.
t(n)
On her 18th birthday, Melia breaks open her piggy bank to use the money to buy supplies at college. How

This is a sequence because the points form a straight line. The expression is: t(n) = 30 + 2x, x is number of weeks. On her 18th birthday, that is 8 years after her 10th. that means 416 weeks have passed since her 10th birthday. Plug 416 into the equation to get: t(416) = 30 + 2(416) = $862. She will have $862 to Spend.
