Explanation:

As the two digits are consecutive,

Let 1st digit = x (smaller)

2nd digit = x + 1 (larger)

According to given condition:

Twice the larger = five more than smaller

2 (x + 1) = x + 5

Simplifying:

2x + 2 = x + 5

Taking x term to left side and others to right side

2x - x = 5 -2 (signs of transferred terms will be changed)

x = 3

So by putting values:

1st digit = 3 (smaller)

2nd digit = 3 + 1 = 4 (larger)
