First you would want to get all your variables on one side and one with no variables on the other . then add them to eachother

{LCM of 8,9 is 72 and LCM of 6,7 is 42}

= 40x/72 + 27x/72 + 7/42 + 24/42

= (40x + 27x)72 + (7 +24)/42

= 67x/72 + 31/42

= 67x/72 + 31/42
