Because the metal goes before the non metal. The correct way would be aluminum sulfide. This is an ionic compound.

Answer:

Sulfur aluminide is not a correct name because an aluminide is a compound that has aluminium with more electropositive elements, and sulfur is less electropositive (or more electronegative) than aluminium.

The correct name for this compound is Aluminum sulfide with the formula Al2S3.
