Think of a movie in which someone has to stand up to a group. Why does this character refuse to follow along and engage in herd behavior? In other words, what makes this character different? What would you have done if you were in this character's shoes?

I'm going to go with Mulan-simplistic yet with depth

1.She defies the state to fight for China being a woman, standing up to centuries of stereotypes and refuses to follow them due to her inner personality and urge to save her father.

2.The character is different because a)she is a woman among an entirely male army and b)she believes her value isnt simply to make a good match and bear sons

In her place I probably wont have dressed up as a man, gone into an all-male environment, as in my country this may lead to dire consequences such as harrasment if discovered. However to save my father I would have laid on the guilt pretty thickly onto the authorities to weasel him out of the war.
