Start by finding the common denominators (in this case, 6)

So;

1/6x + 15/6 = -2/6

1/6x = -17/6

x = -17

Answer:

Explanation:

1/6x + 5/2 = -1/3

1/6x = -1/3 - 5/2 = (-1*2)/ 3*2 - 5*3 / 2*3

1/6x = -2/6 - 15/6 = (-2-15) /6 = -17/6

1/6x = - 17/6

x = (-17/6) * (6/1)

x = -17
