Ramen bought a two liter water jug. When he got home he discovered a leak in it. He found two half-gallon containers to transfer the water into. Will the containers be able to hold the water?

Answer:

Yes, the containers will be able to hold the water

Explanation:

Firstly, note that 3.78 liters is 1 gallon.

So half a gallon container will have a capacity of 3.78/2 = 1.89 liters

Assuming Ramen had kept water in 2L jug full, so he would have 2L water (max).

There are 2 HALF-GALLON (1.89 liter) containers, so that would make the capacity be:

2 * 1.89 = 3.78 liters

Ramen would need to transfer, at max, 2 liters, so he is very safe and has enough capacity with the 2 half-gallon containers he has.

yes, the containers will be able to hold the water.
