x-4=2√(x-4)

Squaring both sides


(x-4)^2=4(x-4)


x^2+16-8x=4x-16


x^2-12x+32=0


x=(12\pm √(12^2-4* 32))/(2)


x=(12\pm 4)/(2)


x=4,8
