Solve the real-world situation by using the substitution method.

The length of a rectangular room is 18 feet more than its width. The perimeter of the room is 92 feet. Let L represent the length of the room and W represent the width in centimeters. The system of equations lbrace L = W + 18 92 = 2L + 2W can be used to represent this situation.

What are the room's dimensions?

The width is 14 and the length is 32. To solve this I subtracted 92 minus 36 because the length is the width plus 18 and there are 2 lengths. I took the answer from the problem and divided it by 4 and got 14. The width is 14. The length is 14+18 which is 32.
