While you work on the customer’s printer, he continues chatting about his network and problems he’s been experiencing. One complaint is that his Internet service slows down considerably in the evening. You suspect you know the cause of this problem: His neighbors arrive home in the evening and bog down the ISP’s local infrastructure. To be sure, you take a quick look at the back of his modem. What type of cable connected to the WAN port would confirm your suspicions and why?

Answer:

If a coaxial cable is connected to the modem's WAN port then that would confirm your suspicions about why the internet service slows down. Coaxial cables are used by internet providers that use cable internet, and that type of system can be saturated when your neighbors start to use them once they return home in the evening. Once the cable internet system saturates, the internet speed will slow down.

Answer: The cable modem that is supposed to be connected to the modem should be coaxial cable .The coaxial cable is attached with the wide area network's (WAN) port for providing the internet service to the customer and also other customers/neighbors got engaged with with the TV cable infrastructure through sharing.

Due to several connections that is made by the neighbors in the evening time when they return from work with the WAN port, degrades the speed of the internet service. These people are using the service at the same time thus ,slow's down the network service.
