Read the excerpt from “The Girl Who Silenced the World for Five Minutes.”

I am only a child yet I know if all the money spent on war was spent on finding environmental answers, ending poverty, and finding treaties, what a wonderful place this earth would be!

At school, even in kindergarten, you teach us how to behave in the world. You teach us:

• to not to fight with others.
• to work things out.
• to respect others.
• to clean up our mess.
• not to hurt other creatures.
• to share, not be greedy.

Then why do you go out and do the things you tell us not to do?

In this excerpt, the author argues that

A. kindergarten is the best place to solve problems.
B. adults must follow the advice they give children.
C. children should be allowed to speak freely to adults.
D. more money should be spent on funding war.

The correct answer is B. Adults must follow the advice they give children.

Step-by-step explanation:

In the excerpt presented the narrator explains during kindergarten adults teach children to behave, this includes "to not fight with others", "not to hurt other creatures" and "to respect others"; these behaviors are contrasted with some behaviors shown by adults the narrator previously explained that included spending money in war. This contrast suggests the behaviors adults teach children which are positive behaviors are not those adults display, due to this, the narrator or author implicitly suggest adults should follow the behavior they teach in kindergarten or "Adults must follow the advice they give children".
