We have to form an equation:

Let 'w' be the width

As the length is 5 more than the width, it can be written as 'w + 5'

The perimeter is 5 x w, this can be written as '5w'

Now we may form our equation:

w + w + w + 5 + w + 5 = 5w

[As you can see, I have used 2 of each value. this is due to perimeter being the sum of all sides]

Simplify the equation:

4w + 10 = 5w

-4w from both sides:

w = 10

l = 5 + 10

l = 15

Thus, the width is 10cm and the length is 15cm.
