At a time t = 3 minutes a train has a velocity of v = 40 m/s, at t = 4 minutes it has a velocity of v = 65 m/s. What is the train's average acceleration in m/s^2?

We have given velocity of train at t =3 sec v= 40 m/sec

And velocity of train at t = 4 sec v = 65 m/sec

So change in velocity dv= 65 -40 = 25 m/sec

Change in time dt = 4-3 = 1 sec

So acceleration
a=(25)/(1)=25m/sec^2
