for this you want to start from within and work your way out so.

7 + [ 2 - (6 x 3 )] you start from 6 x 3 which is 18

now you get rid of the parenthesis to give you a better visual

7 + [2 - 18] not you do 2 - 18 which is -16

not all you do is do 7 + (-16) = -9

i'm not sure why that's not an answer
